Took 2 weeks to get, got lost in shipping. When I finally received it, only 1 subwoofer input works for a dual sub setup. I tried everything. Swapping cables, subs, unplugging and plugging everything in multiple times. Factory resetting receiver multiple times. Terrible experience for a $3300 item. Taking it Back to Best Buy in the morning.

Hello, sorry to hear of your frustrations. Please go to the receiver's settings and select sub one and sub two output. I attached a link that will help guide you. The receiver comes with one subwoofer pre-out active as default. https://manuals.denon.com/AVRX6700H/NA/EN/GFNFSYcrpfrlsu.php Manual setup>Speaker configuration>Subwoofer>Two speakers If further assistance is required, please contact our customer support. https://support.denon.com/

Defective unit

I received a defective unit. The 2nd sub output only produced a low volume distorted crackling noise. Luckily I discovered the issue during the return window, and Denon confirmed it was defective. As a premium model from a premium brand I would expect better quality control. Out of the current reviews here, including mine, 7% have received defective receivers. Eek.

I’ve paired the X6700H with a separately purchased external amp. In my case the 6700 functions as a pre-amp. Combined, they sound great. My home theater setup has been transformed.

After the initial setup and running Audyssey the sound was not very good in my opinion. It sounded as if everything from 100-400Hz was suppressed and the volume level was very low; I had to turn it up to 50% just to hear sound (Note: I used the same speakers from my last AVR and I don’t like my music muddy). Music lacked the kind of warmth that makes instruments sound real. I called Denon customer support and was on hold for a total of about 2 hours before talking to a tech (a callback system would be nice). I was able to improve audio myself by adjusting settings manually and only using Audyssey for distances.
Later, after having the AVR for 1 month it developed a hum/buzz out of the center, left, and left height channels. This time I emailed Denon customer support through my online Denon account and it took almost 2 weeks to get a response. Before I received the email response I had already worked through Magnolia (who has excellent customer support) to arrange an exchange since this AVR may be defective. Three more weeks have gone by and I still don’t have the replacement from Denon nor do I know when one will arrive.
This AVR is a bit buggy as well; the sound will often cut out and I will have to restart the AVR and all connected components to get the sound back. More recently the AVR has also decided to run one TV station (abc) only through the left front speaker, while all other TV stations and media sources are all fine (except for the previously mentioned hum/buzz). I’ve disconnected/reconnected/reprogrammed to no avail. The TV itself runs this TV station through both left and right TV speakers but the AVR registers surround and pushes it all to the left front (even when switching to all channel stereo…left front). Once again I called Denon customer support and after spending 35 minutes on hold was disconnected without talking to anyone.
Overall, moving to this AVR has been a pretty bumpy journey to say the least. In addition, Denon customer support availability and response time leave much to be desired; so far I have no evidence that Denon cares about customer satisfaction at all.

So far so bad. Just returned the unit and they are suppose to be sending me another. Could not get signal from 3D BLU-RAY to TV. Had 4K 3D LG TV in hdmi out 1 and Epson 5050UBE in output 2.
Signal would arrive at the TV unless I turned on the projector also. Then I would get a picture on both and I could then turn off the projector. But once you turned the DENON off, you'd have to start all over again. Tried new cable and then tried fiber optic cables....same result.
This thing costs 5 times more than my ONKYO (which works fine but I want 11.2 instead of 7.1) and it costs more than my first 5 cars put together, think it should reflect that value!

We're sorry for the poor experience. The problem you're having is an EDID negotiation conflict and not a faulty AVR. The display's EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) is not being authenticated well by the source when an HDMI repeating device (AVR) is in the mix. There are a few things you can try. You can use a powered HDMI splitter instead of both HDMI outputs on the AVR or you can try an EDID management device in between the AVR and one of the displays to negotiate the conflicting EDID.

I purchased the denon receiver because of the 11.2 channels. And could not be more happy with my purchase. It has meet all my needs and expectations. I also like that it is future proof with 8k and also has, 2.1 hdmi feature for my Ps5. Overall this is a very good product. Sound is amazing and has all the features that you will need for your home theater entertainment.
