I have had 4 of these over 4 years, so I am qualified to answer this question. The battery never lasts for more than 6-7 months. More specifically, after 5-6 months, you tend to notice that the battery does not hold charge as a brand new one. And once you notice that the charge is depleted soon (lets say 80%), it goes from holding 80% to 10% within a month. To add to that problem, it takes longer to fully charge the battery from brand new to using it for 6 months (2 hours vs 10 hours) . So moral of the story, 6 months is a reasonable time-frame where the vacuum works as brand new. Then it is a free fall.
