Hi Dave,

The max transmission distance is based upon how far the receiver is rated to work when there is no interference.

Long distance flights require RC control not wifi, and still requires clear line of sight. Electromagnetic interference will also reduce maximum control distance. I recommend you read all documentation thoroughly several times.
