Hi Gray, The stabilizer are does not extend, but there is a standard 1/4 - 20 thread on the bottom of the device to allow you to mount it onto tripods or extension rods. On the actual gimbal head itself there is an adjustable plate to help you balance the weight of your phone so the Osmo Mobile works more efficiently. This helps to extend battery life and reduce vibrations.
