• Yes absolutely. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7. There is a button on the DJI for photo shots and another for video. The on-phone hud (DJI free download software) that pairs the gimbal to your phone also has more photo functions like panoramic and virtual shots.

• you can take both photos and video with this. it’s just a stabilizer so you are only limited by what device you use it with.
