“My MacBook Air doesn't have a female port for an HDMI cable. The HDMI is currently plugged into my TV. Will the HDMI from the TV connect through this product to my MacBook Air? Thanks!”

I’m not sure about the newest MacBooks if they have an hdmi port or not. This cord will not work. You need a mini display port to hdmi.
