Low quality Cheaply made product
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this so i could use my VR headset for the HDMI port and use my monitor with this DisplayPort adapter. However not even 2 months in and the quality started degrading immediately. The adapter would cause my screen to go black and would only fix once i plugged it out and plugged it back in. Today is 6/25/2020 and it finally broke on me. The black plastic piece on the DisplayPort side slides off and you can see the inside of the wire. Very cheap product and you get your money's worth with $10. I'd advise you guys to get another adapter that costs more.

Make sure you know your purpose for purchasing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as I have a computer that has one HDMI output and one DisplayPort output. I already have another computer hooked up to both of my monitors through DisplayPort, so I could only have my personal computer plugged into one monitor. By purchasing this, I can then plug the DisplayPort part of the adapter into the computer and then run a standard HDMI into my monitor, therefore having both my computers have access to the monitors without having to move wires around. I don't believe this is bi-directional, meaning I don't believe you can have a video source plugged into the HDMI input and then hooked up to a monitor via the DisplayPort plug on the adapter. It can only be set up with the HDMI being the wire going into the monitor/TV and the DisplayPort portion going into the video source.

You can stop your search
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent weeks trying to understand the differences between various adapters and why some are more expensive then others. Here is what you need to know - if you are going send video from your DisplayPort connector to a 1920x1080 tv or monitor or a lower resolution; this one is for you. It is well made, reliable, and inexpensive. Don't waste your money on more expensive adapters that do the same thing. I bought several of these for the employees in the office to accompany their new laptops which are configured with DisplayPort and not HDMI outputs. They work like a charm with the 70" diagonal tvs in the meeting rooms. Great buy.

This is for 1920 x 1080 resolution monitors only
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because I ran out of HDMI ports in my external videocard which has more display ports than hdmi ports. My monitor is a 2560 x 1080 p (16:9) monitor and when i used this, the maximum resolution I get is only 1920 x 1080. Dont get me wrong, this works fine as long as your monitor has 1920 x 1080 resolution. For my requirement, i ended up buying an ACTIVE displayport - HDMI adapter which supports at least 4K of resolution. I kept this adapter for my other monitor. It's a keeper.

Works as advertised
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an LG 29 UM68-P ultrawide monitor with 2 HDMI and 1 display port inputs. I'm using the displayport input for my mac mini and the HDMI's are used for my Windows PCs. I used this adapter to connect my RX470 video card to my monitor via HDMI. Though the RX470 has 1 HDMI output, I cant use it as it is being used for my RIFT. I bought the adapter hoping to be able to use the available display ports of my RX470 with the available HDMI ports of my monitor and it worked with some caveat. It only supports a maximum of 1920x1080 resolution. My monitor has an aspect ratio of 21:9 and max resolution of 2560x1080. It displayed only 1920x1080 resolution and i get this black unused bars at the sides of the video which is just fine, but kinda annoying. I wanted the video to occupy the whole screen and this adapter did not solve it because it is a passive displayport-hdmi adapter. What I ended needing was an active displayport-hdmi which I got from Amazon care of Plugable. Nonetheless, for the price, it is still a good buy and works as advertise. I can still use it to connect my computer to any regular 1920x1080 resolution monitor. I also used my best buy points which brought down the price to just a dollar fifty. great buy for me with bestbuy points. ;-)

Works Great. Why Doesn't Anyone Keep Them In Stock
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased a an off lease Dell Optiplex that only had DisplayPort ports, so I needed a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. I ordered a cheap one on the web that could only recognize the TV on one of the three HDMI ports on the TV. The one port that recognized the TV still couldn't get video though. I found this reasonably priced Dynex cable with great reviews, but no store within 22 miles had them. I lucked out and found one store 12 miles away that had an "Open Box" one at a discount. I hooked the computer up to the TV again, and it worked great on the first try. Product works great, but it should be carried in more stores. This adapter was $10, and they sell another one under the Insignia brand that does the same thing but costs $25. I shouldn't be surprised that every store near me had multiple of that one in stock.

Works as intended!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have an older PC that only has one VGA output and no HDMIm but had a DisplayPort adapter. I wanted to have a dual monitor set-up and VGA splitter won't have given me the extended mode that I wanted. Enter the adapter. I looked for a Display port-to-HDMI adapter, found it on BestBuy, chose free store pick-up and done! Except got an email later that the store didn't have my item. BestBuy made it right though by offering free two-day shipping and it got here on Monday night after ordering on Saturday. Typing on the dual monitor set-up and couldn't be happier!

Works with some combinations, but not others
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to convert the Display Port output on a couple of HP desktop computers to HDMI so I could run the video through the HDMI inputs of a couple of TVs and the HDMI inputs of a few monitors I have. It works with some combinations, but not with others. I have three different DP to HDMI adapters and there seems to be no apparent rhyme or reason why this will work with a monitor, but not a TV and after swapping the adapters, the combo will work with the TV, but not the monitor. And certain combinations will work with a monitor and a TV, but not with all my monitors and TVs. However, in today's world, it's the nature of the beast. When it works, it's great, but there's no guaranty it will work for your specific application. There are simply too many variables.

Gets the job done.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Display-Port to HDMI Adapter from Dynex works but when I first plugged it in all I saw was my computer mouse. Depending on what you are plugging into the adapter make sure the HDMI is plugged into the HDMI female end. I recently got an HP Omen gaming computer and it only has one HDMI input and 4 Display ports. I have an HTC Vive and I needed to connect the HTC Vive to the same graphics card my TV was using. I got this adapter to fix the problem. I had to play around with plugging in my TV vs the HTC Vive into the Display-Port Adapter and I found that plugging in my HTC Vive directly into the computer with the HDMI was worked and the Display-Port Adapter is what I use for my TV. All in all it worked and now I don't have any persistent error messages.

Great Adapter
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little hesitant on getting an open box adapter even though it wouldn't make much difference. However, after plugging it in it works great! I had an issue with one of my monitors to my graphics card where there was only 1 HDMI port and 3 DisplayPorts. The monitor I've been using for awhile doesn't have a DisplayPort and the HDMI had been occupied. Really glad this works!

Worked Perfectly and a Good Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of my monitors for my computer stopped displaying... i had an HDMI to Display Port connector plugged into the HDMI cable to feed from the monitor (HDMI) to the Video Card (Display Port). At first I thought my monitor was broken, but when i switched the connector from the monitor that was working, a picture appeared again. That led me to believe it was the Display Port to HDMI connector. I purchased the Dynex Adapter at Best Buy, got home and plugged it into my monitor and HDMI cable and Computer and my monitor worked again!! The picture looks fine, and the price was great too... comparable to similar cables on Amazon and I didn't have to wait for delivery.

Great but one flaw
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use for my PC because my graphics cards HDMI port needed to be open for my game capture device. I bought a cord that has this already integrated with an HDMI cable on the other end, but I didn’t realize the keys on my PC was the problem. Are used one of those handheld rotating sanders to sand down some plastic near the DisplayPort connection. It finally worked after doing that modification

HDMI or Display Port, you were wrong, fixed it!
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You know when you have a HDMI monitor and a HDMI computer, get the HDMI cable and plug them in but one end does not work. It tried to fit but doesn't. That's because one is Display Port, at first glance it looks like HDMI. Well this adapter fixes things. And it's simple, fast and just works. And it's a lot cheaper than a new monitor or computer. I got a spare because you never know.

Great product. Works as you would want it to.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed something to go from my HP Advanced Docking Station to a new Asus 24" Monitor. I didn't realize that the dock had a Display Port and the monitor only took HDMI or VGA. Look, if you want fancy, get fancy. If you want something that works, works RIGHT, and is available... get this. In a pinch this saved me from a lot of frustration. Plus due to the pandemic, I realized my oversight... ordered it online, and had it brought out to my car. I was up and running in minutes. There's nothing but GOOD things here, if you really need it.

So glad the reps knew what it was
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our 13 yr old called telling me he needed this, calling it by a name neither I nor my computer savvy husband ever heard b4. I went to Best Buy & they knew what he needed immediately, sold it to me for around $10 & it did the trick. Its still working so what is there to say? It works perfectly.
