“I have a usb that will turn a device into Bluetooth. My tv is not a smart tv and has no place to put a usb. It does have hdmi slots. I am wanting to connect via Bluetooth to a speaker across the room from our tv so we are able to hear it better.”

Sounds to me that you want a wireless speaker. Best buy has a wireless speaker that can connect to the HDMI. Got it for my dad who has a hard time hearing what's on tv and it worked great
