It is a DVI-I. if it was a DVD-D it would not be able to work with VGA. The prongs on the DVI-I is used for VGA output.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The description, "Converts DVI-I video card to VGA analog," is wrong. This is a DVI-A adapter. Your computer MUST output an analog signal for it to work! There will be four pins around the wider ground blade. If your computer does not have the four holes surrounding a ground slot, and the ground slot is not wide, then it does not output an analog signal and this adapter will not work. You will need an "active" adapter to convert DVI-I to VGA (typically $39 retail). It appears that Best Buy does not sell these, such as the Tripp-Lite P120-06N-ACT adapter, pictured.
