“Of all the Dyson vacs, this looks to be the least expensive. Can anyone tell me what you're NOT getting by buying this model vs. the more expensive models? We had a Dyson Animal for 15 years that worked great! TIA”

What Dyson you elect to buy is really a personal choice as well as a wallet choice. We bought this one as it was a recent Deal of the Day on Best Buy and my wife was looking for a smaller unit to use. as her wrists and hands can't handle pushing a larger unit around. This one is primarily being used for hardwood and area rug type carpets and some carpet without a lot of knap. It has a basic length hose and two smaller attachments but so far we haven't used those. But we are VERY IMPRESSED with it's suction capacity as we have a cat and it is removing cat hair we never knew we had in the area rugs! If you read this review on Friday 6 August Best Buy has the next unit higher up the Dyson model scale as a Deal of the Day today. It has a longer hose if that if important for your use and has a larger vacuum suction capacity.
