“I have the Animal 2 and the suction is too strong for some of our area rugs, otherwise it works great. I'm curious if anyone has issues with this model being too strong for area rugs making it impossible to push or sucking up the rug?”

Dyson ball upright vacuums - including Dyson Ball Animal 2, have an active base plate which self-adjusts to create optimal contact with every floor type. This reduces air leaks and retains more suction power at the cleaner head. Dyson cleaner heads have been designed to maintain optimal contact with flooring to help ensure the best performance across both hard floors and carpet. As a result, while we don't expect problems to occur and experiences can vary from home to home, some high pile carpets may fill in the cleaner head resulting in an airtight seal.
