• Hello Jim, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson AM07 does not use a filter. Our only air multiplier machines that would require the use of a filter are the purifier machines. I hope this helps! Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support

• No, it doesn't. Just make sure that the vents around the fan's motor are free of obstructions. Dust can accumulate around the vents, but they're very easy to remove. Just wipe them off with a dry cloth.
