• It CANNOT! I tried it thinking it would be a good way to save money and still have the functionality of the Wi-Fi model that costs nearly twice as much. Sadly no, it will power your fan off with the smart plug but not power it on. So useless.

• it can in essence, but the smart plug stops electricity only it wont let you turn it on at least for the wemo smart plug i have it doesnt allow me to do it. i still need the remote

• And 2 years later, still not compatible with smart switches. The only thing that has changed in that time is Dyson's constant price increases. That they have down like a German clock, which by way IS compatible with a smart switch.
