I'm not sure about paint fumes. I actually purchased it for cigarette smoke and honestly it doesn't really work well. I would recommend looking into other options especially because the price point is so high on the dyson.

The air purifier itself made my room smell like paint fumes. If you don't like the smell of paint fumes, then don't get this.

Hello Celeste, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Cool Link Tower features our 2nd Generation filter, which has three times more graphite than the 1st Generation filter. Also, the newer filter has Tris-coated graphite crystals to capture more household odors and gases, such as formaldehyde. VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are gaseous chemical compounds, both human-made and naturally occurring, including fumes and toxins. These are neutralized when they react with the layer of activated carbon on the inside of the filter. You should find our purifiers to help immensely with paint fumes. I can not honestly answer specific to paint fumes. It does work on other smells or odors.
