Why does this much larger fan/purifier have only 172 sq. ft. air purifier rating while the much smaller Dyson HP01 Pure + Cool (311383-01) have a 400 sq. ft. rating?

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Cool Link and Pure Hot + Cool purifier fan will clean the air in any size room. The bigger the room, the longer the machine will take to purify it as there is more air in the atmosphere. For instance in a room of 139ft², the machine will purify the room in 25 min. Environmental factors that can affect purification time would include the outdoor air quality, along with the number of windows and doors that you have in the home.
