Hello Skyla, this is Kelly with Dyson. To change/reset the filter on your unit without using the remote control, ensure the purifier is unplugged, and press both buttons to lift off the loop amplifier. Remove your old filter, and install the new filter. You will then lower the loop amplifier onto the base until it clocks and locks. When you have reassembled your machine, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 6 seconds on the front of the unit. A clockwise rotating pattern will be shown on the LED display. Once the loading pattern is complete, the purifier will return to its normal usage. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
