“We keratin treatments in our salon which cause a small amount of formaldehyde to be released in the air when blow drying and flat ironing the hair. If we used this unit right next to where the treatment was being done would it suck in the pollutants out?”

Yes it should. If you have the unit close enough. Just use it on a higher speed for it to work quickly
