Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. You can certainly keep the Dyson TP01 Pure Cool Tower on the floor, on a carpeted surface. You will want to ensure that the flooring is level to prevent any issues with the oscillation of the machine. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
