QuestionI bought the Dyson Supersonic HairDryer in Hong Kong. Now i just have the paperwork to permanently to stay and work in USA. Is there any possible way to use it instead of buying a new one? Any good power adapter/converter to solve my issue. Please help

- Answer Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Dyson machines are built for use in the country in which they were purchased in. Meaning they will only work on that countries voltage. Using a power adapter is not recommended. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Service

- Answer Hello there, This is Dan with Dyson. In the US, the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer has wattage of 1600. However, it is worth noting that the performance of a hair dryer is not all about the watts that it pulls; drying hair requires air flow and heat, and the power of the V9 motor and Air Multiplier™ technology provides a strong flow to help evaporation and air get into hair. While heat is also important in drying your hair, too much of it can be damaging – hence the need for thermal control. Best wishes, Dan

Question@Dyson (Krystal): Lowest heat temperature is hot/burns after few seconds if held against scalp or hand (with diffuser), is this normal? Trying to figure out if I have a faulty dryer or not. My previous dryer on low could be held against scalp much longer.

- Answer Hi Fae, this Is Krystal with Dyson. The temperature at the lowest setting is 140°F and 212° at the highest. Previously, close up styling could expose your hair to excessive temperatures. Now, with intelligent heat control, you can dry without the risk of extreme heat. In addition, the attachments are coated with cool wall technology, making it relatively cool to touch and easy to twist. Therefore, the tools should not get hot to the touch. QuestionI accidentally plug dyson blow dryer to a 220 voltage plug. What will happen? Did I ruin the dryer? I did only for a few seconds. Thanks

- Answer I don’t think it’s normal. I purchased the Dyson hair dryer at launch. It worked fine for a few months until the battery emitted a loud buzzing. For that level of noise when it is not even on is unacceptable. I contacted them and they immediately replaced it. I guess too many people started complaining and it was affecting their bottom line. So now they tell you it’s normal when in fact it is not. The replacement lasted about 15 months before it started buzzing. It is out of warranty and I’m not sure if I want to get another one. It appears to be a reoccurring issue.

- Answer We have also had the same problem in the USA with Dyson Hairdryer Surely Dyson could produce some kind of circuitry within the machine so that it has a tolerance of between 110 and 240 volts GHD Have done it with their hair straighteners
