YES, THERE ARE ATTACHMENTS FOR EACH TYPE OF FLOORING.

I vacuum the hardwood on low power which will last up to 40 minutes, but i prefer to vacuum rugs and carpet at high power which the battery will only last for 20 minutes. If you have a lot of carpet i would not recommend a cordless dyson because you would have to charge it a few times a day in order to finish the job.
