“Which option (V6 or V8) gives you access to ALL filters so you can clean the vacuum thoroughly when it starts to smell (and with two dogs it DOES smell). I know the V6 has a filter inside the motor housing, but access would void the warranty.”

I got the eight for that exact reason and have been super happy with the results. I have not even needed to clean the inner filter yet (which is extremely easy to get to) and my dogs shed like crazy. I have used it for a month and have nothing but good things to say.

Both models have the same type of filter, which can be removed from the top of the cyclone and rinsed under cold water. This should be done once a month. It is important to ensure the filter is completely dry before inserting it back in.
