YES, THERE ARE ATTACHMENTS FOR EACH TYPE OF FLOORING.

It is a multi surface vacuum. I vacuum the hardwood on low power which will last up to 40 minutes, but i prefer to vacuum rugs and carpet at high power which the battery will only last for 20 minutes. If you have a lot of carpet i would not recommend a cordless dyson because you would have to charge it a few times a day in order to finish the job.

I do this is my second one. moved the older one (6yr old) into the motorhome. new one is just has handy and efficient on all floors with twice the battery power great on the lanai too
