You can mix and match any eero!

Yes you mix and match, BUT the speed you get from the eero 6+ is faster than the eero 6 so the system will revert to the lower speed of the eero mesh, it is better to go with the complete change over of the eero 6+

Yes, I currently have my Eero 6+ 3-pack set up in my house with one of my Eero 6 3-router bundle in the garage as an extra access point and it works without issue, no network degradation.

Yes it dose work, but only the clients steered to the newest and improved eero will see any difference, if you are talking adding it as the main one otherwise you will create a bottle neck.

From what I’ve read they will work together but you may want to use the 6+ as the router to take advantage of faster speeds
