Yes, you connect the main unit by Ethernet cable to your current router. Then you use the app to connect the other units. This will extend your network to other parts of your home. I set it up as another, separate network that I connect certain devices to while keeping the other Comcast/Xfinity network. It has it's own SSID and password.

Should cover 6000 sq ft between the 3. I have two in my main house and one 180 ft away in my shop. Works great. Always returnable.
