As long as that modem provides access to the internet via an ethernet port, and most of them do, it will work fine. You will plug one eero into that modem via ethernet, that eero will be the gateway/head eero one you set it up. The other eero can connect to that gateway eero either wired or wirelessly and will rebroadcast the same wifi as the gateway, giving your devices a much closer access point to get internet from.
