All eero will work with all other model's of eero, so you can mix and match them as you like. I would recommend an eero Pro 6 as your head/gateway eero. That is a triband eero so it can talk to mulitple devices and eero on the 5ghz band simultaneously. The 6+ is a dual band, it can only talk to one 5ghz device/eero at a time. You can use your existing eero as a wireless node if you want. The head/gateway eero is the most important for security of your whole network.
