“Just got this laptop the other day awesome laptop. Question I have is what SSD can I upgrade to? can I get the small m.2 ones or the 2.5" SATA SSD or would it be the mSATA? Also, when upgrading the RAM what should I get?”

You can upgrade the hard drive to a standard 2.5" sata ssd or you can leave the 1tb hdd in and install a nvme ssd in the m2 slot which is what I did. What a difference it makes. Laptop boots in about 8 seconds from cold boot after fresh install of windows 10. DDR4 SODIMM 2400mhz is the ram you would be looking for. SSD upgrade is definitely worth it, questionable if more ram is necessary. Good luck and enjoy. This laptop is amazing!

By removing the bottom cover you can install an NVMe M.2 or an SSD M.2 in the slot.The SSD version will run at 525MBps and the NVMe will be four times faster than the SSD M.2 version. You could also clone the hard drive onto an SSD 2.5 and swap out the hard drive for the SSD. Ram is ddr4-2400 sodimm up gradable to 16GB with two 8GB modules. Recommend downloading the service manual from HP's support website before you begin installation.
