• THE 302XL 5 PACK HAS ALL THE COLORS AND 2 BLACK CARTRIDGES. THE 302 HAS JUST THE 4 STANDARD PHOTO CARTRIDGES

• XL is just extra long lasting. Black is used more

• Correct....the printer for this ink takes one very large black cartridge plus the regular (small) size cyan, magenta, yellow & black cartridges. 5 cartridges in all. It will depend on which of your cartridges is low. The printer will tell you which one is out.
