Hello Mimi. The ET-2800 uses ink-jet printer technology. Different variables can cause the ink to dry, such as the printer sitting idle with no usage for periods at a time. Therefore, we recommend doing routine user maintenance to help prevent these issues, such as printing a nozzle check and running print head cleanings, etc. Please visit the official Epson Support page for more information on user maintenance.
