I had the same issue. It scans the original and makes an edited copy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The default file shows original and enhanced with an (a) after it. Go up to the search bar and type a. All of the Enhanced will appear together. Select all of them, Copy and Paste and rename the new file. The original and enhanced will still stay in the FastFoto File that is the default location.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The two copies are a setting. One copy is the original, as scanned. The other is an enhanced version. I did not find the enhanced version much better. However, it claims to be able to fix problems like red eye.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Within the settings page of the epson scanner you will find a setting Dual Image Output, turn that setting OFF if you don’t want that functionality. That feature is useful if you are scanning older pictures and you are using the automatic color correction options.
