“The enhancement settings don't work. I have it set to scan and save the original photo, to correct and save the enhanced photo and also the back of the photo. But it is only saving one--a "b" which is supposed the back but is the unenhanced front.”

Make sure you are stacking you photo face side up in the feeder. A is the original. B is the enhancement. C is the back side.
