• This model does, but there is an upgraded model (ES-60W) that works wirelessly.

• Yes, the scanning machine must be connect to the laptop/computer or else you wouldn't have anywhere to send the scanned copy to.

• Yes it does need to be connected by usb to a computer or laptop.
