Insert the device into the front port of the printer, and when selecting "Scan" from your display screen, make sure to choose your memory device. the Epson WF-3820 does not have a front-facing USB port where you could scan to a USB storage drive ("ThumbDrive"). You will have to scan to a local PC or select a different product with USB on the printer itself.
