I have had my printer since the day they did the official launch. During that time, I have had several interactions with others who purchased the printer and the ink, the general thought is the ink has a 1 year expiration date from the date of manufacture. Usually the ink is about one month old or less when it arrives. I hope this helps (I originally had the same concern).
