Yes but only to the internal memory. You can access it any time from the app but if someone steals the whole camera, they will also have all of the recordings which you won't be able to access anymore. Best to mount in locations that it can't be easily grabbed.

Yes. It will record up to 288 hrs onto the SD card then over write. Do note that it will also drop down to 1080p as well. Another option if you happen to have a Synology is to configure to use their Surveillance Station Software. It is compatible with that
