As long as you have it set to mark events (i.e., motion detection is on), you can scan on your phone. It's not super intuitive as to how, so if you get one, here's what you'll need to do. You'll go to the camera view in the app, and at the bottom of the screen is a menu with "Record", "Screenshot", etc. on it. You'll slide that up to see more options, pick "Event", then go to the calendar. Dates with dots under them have events, which you can then watch.
