either way, but to have access in the front connections you need the extra USB audio from the case to plug it to the side adapter. Tbh just just the back your audio will be way better and less hassle
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Greg, TL;DR; You can use either, but I would recommend using rear port. There is a special port on the card to connect the front panel audio connector (same type as the one you'd see on a motherboard). While you could use that connector and then connect the headphones to the front panel audio, generally I'd recommend using rear port, as simply it's more direct connection to your audio card, so you don't have to depend on quality of unnecessary components. Hope it helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I access the Headphones from the rear of the card via the 6.35mm jack. There is an area on the top of the card that can connect to your AC97 audio codec, i think. In other words, I think that you can link this card to your 3.5mm jack that is on the front of your PC but you would have to read a bit about that connection as I just do not use it. I very much prefer the sound of a 6.35mm jack and a nice pair of headphones, I use this card for recording music via Sonar Professional 2015 and it is great!! D
