Is this the best lens for the a7iv? null

That's difficult to answer. I like this lens on my A7IV, but a Tamron 28-200 zoom lens is still my go-to. I would be too limited with only a 50mm focal length. The "best" lens for your needs will depend on what you like to take photos of.
