Yes the Alta can be removed from its band. I don't know if it would stay attached to your belt strap or even how well it would detect steps given that it is intended to be worn on a wrist.

Yes. The Alta can be removed from the band. I have seen numerous clip and pendant holders available.

You can change the band and possibly wear it on your belt but it will talk to you non-stop because each time it is shaken it starts talking to you and the display comes on. I would not recommend that it be worn on your belt.

Yes it can be removed from the band. And extra bands are sold separately in case you wish to switch out to something different.
