“I was told by an employee that the Charge2 is waterproof but I can't find anything to back it up. Is it water proof? Or water resistant? Or neither? Thanks”

It is water resistant. You still have to remove it while taking a shower or going for a swim. Spashes are ok. So you can keep it on while doing the dishes and all. Just remember to wipe it dry.
