“Does the GPS feature help with the accuracy of steps taken? I previously owned a Apple Watch & a fit bit & had issues with them both not tracking steps while walking if you aren’t swinging your arms.”

No. This is a very accurate watch though. If you read reviews it is o e of the most accurate. It does not have independent gps. It links with your phone when the app is open. That being said I have had other smart watches and this is the most in depth app experience, calorie tracking. It's great at calorie tracking because it has continuous heart rate. It's accurate in my opinion. Any watch that has independent gps will kill the battery, it's always gonna pull off your phone unless you buy a really expensive Garmin for example.
