Is it water resistant? Specs say not water resistant but description says you can shower with it on. To me, water resistant means washing your hands or showering but not bathing or swimming.

I read that it is NOT shower proof. It is splash proof and sweat proof. I know someone that wore it in the shower and it no longer works.

You can shower, just do not submerge your FitBit in water (i.e. swimming, ocean, washing dishes)

No it's resistant to simple splashes but the instructions strictly explains to take it off with excess water exposure.

I wouldn't wear it in the shower. It is not recommended to do so. Water can damage the sensor. Washing hands should be fine. If it gets wet, just dry it quickly and then put back on.

You are right. Water resistant, but not water proof like for swimming or having the device immersed in water. Light splashes of water are okay.
