So here's the deal, the Charge HR will record your steps and Heart Rate. But it may not accurately represent cycling for your movement in representation of steps. But while your heart rate rises it will continue to record the calories burned if you are hitting your target HR zone. It also records the heightened heart rate as "Active Minutes" which is a representation of how long you exercised while keeping your heart rate higher. There are trackers that don't have HR tracking that can more accurately evaluate your activity while biking, for example the Shine. But the HR recording is very important if you want to burn calories effectively. The Garmin vivofit does cycling recording and HR with the HR monitor strapped around your chest but I'm sure you can see how it's more convenient to have that feature on a smaller scale, on your wrist. Along with the Fitbit recording it daily so you can get a more accurate burned calories counter over a span of time instead of just during work outs. Hope this helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In my experience it does *not* do a great job tracking your activity on a bike. But, my bike use has been limited to spin class...so, that being said, it might work better if you are actually traveling on the road. When it comes to spinning, I find it similar to pedometers that I have used in the past, it tracks some movement but not like running on a treadmill or using the elliptical.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No it doesn't track riding. Only walking but you have to make sure your not using your hands and you can track using your phone. This is good for heart rate tracking while exercising though.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When doing spin classes, I put my Charge (not an HR) on my shoes to count steps. I would think you would get HR but not cadence wearing it on the wrist. I get stair counts when wearing it playing tennis. Apparently, I actually jump when I play. :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The FitBit Surge is more accurate for tracking bicycling.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will as along as it is anywhere on your person. I usually keep my on my wrist but at times I place in my pocket.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I also bike and it is pretty close with the iBiker app that I still use to verify exercise in case one isn't working due to weather and what not. The only thing is it will automatically track you after 15 mins riding. Or you can hold the button on the side to start. It does keep track the first 15 mins. and adds that to your total workout. When you are done go to the exercise and change to cycling. Then your good to go.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would just have to log your activity into your iPhone or iPad on the app and it should come up
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I know the heart rate and activity will track.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will track the heart rate but not the cadence, mileage etc. You a tracker and cadence sensor etc. I have a Garmin 920XT which works great
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
