You do not have yo do anything with it, but I do sleep with mine on. I knew I had issues and wearing the Fitbit revealed how drastic the issues were. I needed to make some changes, monitor other areas for improvement, and dedicate input of accurate info to get the results needed. It is worth going all the way with the Fitbit!
