This Fitbit is great asset for a kid; it's easy to track results; there is a lot of tracking information on the Fitbit app; a kid can choose what information will benefit their goals; with adult guidance, this Fitbit could prove to be a great learning experience for the kid.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The unit isn't waterproof so some caution is required. The unit itself is easy to read in a darkened room. In bright sun, I can't read anything. The Fitbit app is the best part. Everything is logged and tracked within the app. I seldom look at the actual Fitbit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes I bought it for my 16yo and it works great. She has no trouble seeing the results or using it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I got one for my son too. Results are easy to see, just push a button. Also, results can be seen on internet (which my son loves). Track number of steps taken each day, distance traveled, stairs climbed, heart rate, and sleep information.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We got the grandkids the Fitbit Alta. It does everything they need (they are 13 and 8) and it really has motivated them to move. They initiate challenges and they can track their progress on the Alta and sync their progress via computer or cell phone app. The 8 year old just called to say "It is very easy to use. I can see my progress and I can get information via the iPad on how I much I'm ahead of you!"
I would recommend:

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would say yes. With just a couple taps on the reader, you get total steps taken, heart rate, stairs climbed, distance walked & calories burned.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You'd want to check their site as to whether it's calibrated for a kid, and you'd want to make sure the wristband can be tightened enough - fit is important. The results can be seen on the screen by cycling through with the button on the side, but also you can sync it with your phone and pc/laptop/table where you can look at the data in various forms and even export it if you want. You have privacy options on there so you can control what others can see.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure it's calibrated for a kid - you might want to check with the company on that one, but otherwise I don't see why not. It certainly couldn't do them any harm as far as I know. Also the fit is important in order to get good tracking - they have sample wristbands on their site that you can download and print out so you'd want to check that first.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not for young children.
