• No you have to take it off to shower.

• According to their website, "Charge has been tested up to 1 ATM meaning it is sweat, rain and splash proof. However, the device is not swim proof."

• It is water resistant, not waterproof. So I would be a little concerned to get it totally under water.

• It is water resistent, but not water proof. If you want something you can swim with I recommend the FitBit Flex. My roomate has one and she really likes it.
