I was pleasantly surprised that it had some charge in it when I took it out of the box. It still needs to get a full charge. You need the app on your phone in order to get the activity, sleep, etc measures. It was easy to sync the phone to the watch, after fully charged—it will have a percentage on the screen to tell you the charge. I like the Fitbit very much.
