“Does this watch monitor heart rate, can it tell you if you are in afib”

It can roughly monitor your heart rate based on reflections of light into your skin. I do not believe it's software is sophisticated enough to detect ventricular fibrillation (afib). Certainly the current design has no way to indicate that detection.
