A:Answeryes you can see text, calls and respond to text with a basic pre set response. calls cannot be answered but you can view who is calling, also you can set up a preset message to respond to text in the fitbit app.
A:AnswerIt will continue to count steps, keep time and all of the other stuff it tracks. However, you will likely run into trouble when you need to adjust the clock (different time zone, daylight savings time, etc). Plus you won't have access to any of the details that are only available within the app. For instance, I can see on the watch how long I slept last night and some statistics about sleep quality, but I can't see (or at least I haven't found) any previous nights for comparison. The same goes for steps, etc. In my opinion, it will work to a certain degree, but not up to the standard I would expect for the price.
