Then log onto Apple Music click on your user ID go down to redeem and then choose the way to enter your identification code either by scanning or taking a picture.

There is no gift card for a year subscription but you can do it through ITunes once your trials ends or even before. On the other hand yes you maybe able to stream all the music you want but you don’t own it. Furthermore once the year is over the music won’t be played.
